Founded by a lifelong pet lover Jenni Holdsworth, with 20 years of sitting experience, Sit Happens is all about keeping tails wagging, whiskers twitching, and homes happy. We know that pets are family and homes are a haven, so we make it our mission to provide personalised, professional care for both.

Whether you need a full-time live-in sitter, someone to pop in and feed the fish, or a friendly face to water the plants, we’ve got you covered. We handle the less glamorous jobs too – like scooping the poop and changing cat litter – because we know that a little mess never scared a true pet lover.

From cuddles on the couch to security checks and plant watering, we do it all – with a little extra love and a lot of personality. Because when you’re away, Sit Happens.

Claire Protheroe is part of the Sit Happens crew, looking after homes and pets with the same care and attention she’d give her own. Based in West Beach, Cape Town (and happy to travel a bit), Claire is a passionate animal lover, nature enthusiast, and all-round calm, capable human. She’s great with dogs, cats, and other furry friends, and has a natural way of making pets feel safe, relaxed, and totally at ease.

A non-smoker and seasoned sitter, Claire offers daily pet care, feeding, walks, cuddles, and playtime. She’ll keep your home tidy, your plants watered, and your space feeling lived-in while you’re away. She can even help coordinate service providers if you’ve got home projects running in your absence (at an extra cost, of course).
